Margaret de Lange (1963) works with personal documentary.
Her first series /Daughters/ is based on her own daughters. A mother’s intense portrayal of her daughters’ childhood experiences. The photographs were exhibited internationally, and published in the book /Daughters/.
Her latest body of work /Surrounded by no one/ is also a personal documentary. The contrast in the black and whites are pressed to edge, giving the images its rawness as well as strengthening the underlying loneliness… The work is currently exhibited at Fotografiska in Stockholm.
