On International Women’s Day, on 8 March 2008, Orsolya Haarberg became the first female member of the Norwegian Nature Photographers group.

Orsolya Haarberg was born in Hungary in 1977. She is a graduate landscape architect, but in recent years her focus has been directed towards photography. Since 2005 she has been living in Norway where she works as a freelance photographer with her husband Erlend Haarberg. Orsolya and Erlend are a formidable team of photographers. Erlend is a well known in Scandinavia for his nature photos. His knowledge of animal and bird behaviour, combined with an extreme endurance and patience, has allowed him to capture many unique views of nature with his camera. Orsolya has a great eye for detail and an artistic approach to her photography. Her pictures have something picturesque and illusory about them; beautiful and tranquil with charming harmonious colours, they create a deep sense of serenity. Their first project together was to shoot Lapland, a project that resulted in the book “Lapland – the Alaska of Europe”. Their second book, “Iceland – land of contrasts” was released in November 2011.

Orsolya´s images has received many awards in international photography competitions such as the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, GDT EuropeanWPY and Natures Best Photography Awards. In 2009 she sat on the jury for the BBC Wildlife Photography of the Year. 2009 and 2011 she was named the year’s nature photographer in Hungary.

Orsolya will be signing //Lapland// & //Iceland// at the PUG BookCafé at Fotomessen Saturday March 3nd at 1 PM (13:00)
