William Ropp//

The special way William Ropp sets up his pictures is rooted in the theatre where he began his career before co-founding the “Théâtre X” company. Having acquired this experience as a director, where the subject emerges from the darkness, photography appealed to him as a machine for capturing dreams and recording another form of reality.//MEP

The light sculptor; William Ropp has presented his work in many gallerys and museums, currently his work is being shown at MEP// Maison Européenne de la Photographie.

In addition to working with prints he also presents his work in handcrafted bound books. He has published 10 to date, and is currently working on his 11th. The process is closly monitored by the artist, and he takes pride in presentation. He sees it as an important essence of his work. Some of his books are published by Freddy Denaës, a well-known and acclaimed publisher og filmmaker. The initial books are hardcover and beautiful in print, in addition special editions are presented leather bound, include prints, signed and numbered.

PUG is presenting some of his work from /Dreamt Memories of Africa/  and several of his amazing books at Paleet in Oslo. He is represented by ellen-k fine art photography.
