Joel Peter Witkin is a controversial artist.

His work reflects a space between the senses and reality, which at times is difficult for the soul to understand. He leaves us with question that we all of a sudden need to answer. The artwork is rooted deeply into art history and reflects the past with the present, at times an unpleasant present.
